Description

An innovation in acrylic plaster for interior use
  • This smooth, yet textured sandstone look resembles the cut antique or polished stone used in older European buildings.
  • Many different true stone colours & textures can be effectively reproduced because this product contains different clays that can be tinted with universal colorants or stained with Stonewash pigments.
  • Alternatively, Glazes can be utilized to enhance the design look.
  • This acrylic paste can accommodate a variety of finishes, such as cracked walls or embossed through stencilling.
  • Sealing is done with dead flat varnish, like our Zero Gloss™ for a washable surface.

Application

The essence of true stone colours and textures can be reproduced effectively using these methods. Note the classic application simulates Marmorino Carrara lime plaster.

It is ideal for creating blocks or with stencils and can be used in combination with our Stonewash pigments or glazes.

Prepare the surface in the usual way, filling holes and sanding as required. Prime the surface with Texprime, and allow to dry 6 hours.

Depending on the look you want, apply the first coat with a trowel. Use a thick one coat application. Try to spread the plaster evenly as possible.

On the second coat, for the classic look, trowel on, tightly compressing as you advance across the surface.

Sealing is generally done using our dead flat varnish Zero Gloss but a variety of coating options are available, such as; Zero Gloss Varnish, Coloured Distressing using Glazes, Washes with Stonewash Pigments, or Waxing.

It comes in paste form to accommodate the varied requirements distressed plaster.

When cracked walls are needed, dilute it at 15% water heat with a hair dryer or use Aquaglass crackle medium in the areas cracking is needed. For embossed stencilling, use the paste to fill the stencil to create a relief. Allow it to dry, Stonewash the whole area, then sand the high spots on the stencilled relief.

Tools

For a perfect white plaster, it’s worth investing in a Co Me Bianko trowel as it leaves no grey marks, common with steel trowels.
