Instructions

Tape or spray glue the stencil onto a previously well varnished or lacquered surface. Trowel Stencil Peel over a stencil, approximately twice as thick as the stencil. Remove stencil and allow to dry until clear (1-2 hours depending on temperature and humidity). Once dry, paint over the stencil with desired distressed finish using Cottage Paints.

Allow the paint to dry. (Approx. 45-60 minutes). Peel away stencil pieces using a small sharp knife to lift the corners of each stencil fragment. This exposes the original wood grain. Apply a clear sealer over the entire surface for added protection. It looks amazing especially if you are balancing the wood revealed in the stencil with more exposed wood elsewhere on the furniture piece like the table skirt or legs.
